1. The Resurrection and Ascension Of Jesus
(2nd line – left; top centre)
After Jesus died, his body was laid in a tomb, which was sealed with a large stone and soldiers guarded the tomb. His disciples were confused and grieving. On the third day, women followers went to the tomb. It was empty! An angel said Jesus had risen. Then Jesus physically appeared to a follower called Mary. For forty days, Jesus appeared to many people and at one time more than 500 people met him. He helped them understand what had taken place in light of the scriptures. He explained that for the forgiveness of sins, the deliverer had to suffer death and rise again. Jesus promised His followers that God’s Spirit would empower them to share His truth and love and forgiveness with the whole world. Then Jesus blessed his disciples and ascended into the clouds. His followers worshipped him.
2. Jesus Sends The Holy Spirit
(2nd line -
Soon after this, Jesus’ followers gathered together. Suddenly a noise like a rushing wind filled the whole house and they saw what appeared to be tongues of fire, which rested on each person. They were all filled with the Holy Spirit of God, and began speaking in languages other than their own. Just as Jesus had promised, he was with them, through God’s Spirit. By His Spirit, they healed the sick, cast out demons, and reconciled people to God, as Jesus had done. And their numbers increased daily. Today many millions of people trust in Jesus.
3.The Followers Of Jesus Through History
(The round dance)
As with the nomad joining the dance, people from many nations have taken refuge in Jesus as the one who died as a sacrifice for their sins. When anyone turns in faith to Jesus as their only Lord and Savior, confessing their sins to Him, they are forgiven. The Spirit of God comes into them, bringing eternal life. According to God’s scriptures, the time will come when his followers will include people from every ethnic group on earth. The people of Jesus are known as the “Church” and Jesus calls the church his “bride”!
4.The Return of Jesus and The Great Throne Of Judgement
One day Jesus will return. It is prophesied that, “the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God” and, “Look, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him.” He will sit on a glorious white throne and judge all the living and all the dead. Those who have rejected Jesus will be separated from God forever in the place that was prepared for the Devil and his followers, “the lake of fire”. Those who have trusted Jesus will enter into the indescribable, eternal blessing he has prepared for them. True followers of Jesus will rise into the clouds and meet Jesus. They will live with God forever in a holy place where there will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain.
If you decide to take refuge in Jesus, tell God in a prayer: for example: “Almighty God, our Father, I believe that you are loving and merciful. I believe that your Son came into this world, that he died on the cross for our forgiveness, and that he was raised to life again. I believe in all your deeds and words. Savior Jesus, you are God’s Son. I am a sinner and I repent to, for my sin. Please cleanse me from all my sins. Please give me your Holy Spirit. You are my Holy Savior. Savior Jesus, I praise your name. I offer this prayer with thanksgiving. Amen.”
